CareTech Solutions Saves $4.7 Million with One Software Application

Company automates IT service desk requests with Kinetic Data products

ST. PAUL, Minn. (April 21, 2014) — CareTech Solutions was honored as “Innovator of the Year” by Kinetic Data at the company's Annual User Conference.

As the medical profession transitions to electronic medical records, hospitals are working hard to ensure that the change proceeds as seamlessly as possible for doctors and nurses. By transitioning from manual processes to a single Web-based service request portal using Kinetic Data software several years ago, CareTech Solutions, an IT and Web products and services provider headquartered in Troy, Mich., was prepared for its clients' transition to electronic medical records.

In order to be more efficient, CareTech contracted with St. Paul, Minn.-based Kinetic Data to automate its IT service desk requests (e.g., access to an application, name change, etc.) using software called Kinetic Request, a key component for enterprise request management (ERM).

The result? CareTech Solutions handled nearly 250,000 service requests through the Web portal in 2013. By empowering its base of nearly 400,000 end users to initiate and track the status of their own requests online, CareTech estimates the annual costs savings and productivity gains for its collective operation to be an impressive $4.7 million.
